Basil Essential Oil

 




Basil has a sweet, minty aroma with hints of smokiness.
It is beloved for its restorative and calming properties.  Basil is commonly used for soothing muscles and joints, easing breathing and as a cooling agent for the skin.
Derived from herbs that sprout annually with deep green leaves and square stems that extend 8-20 inches and produce pink or white flowers.



Sweet Basil, Ocimum basilicum, has a warm, spicy, herbal aroma with an anise-like scent. Extremely effective in treating skin disorders, basil enlivens dull-looking skin and improves skin tone. In hair carebasil adds luster to dull hair, stimulates hair growth and tame tangles. Its antiseptic properties have been valued in Far Eastern medicine for thousands of years. Aromatherapy Properties: The energizing, uplifting aromatic scent invigorates the body and spirit, refreshing the mind, counteracting depression, allowing concentration and sharpening the senses especially when tired after a stressful day. Basil essential oil aromatherapy should not be used when pregnant.
